The Manifesto

We believe..
that the application of new forms of participatory communication and multimedia to the cultural heritage sector should be considered an indispensable opportunity to guarantee the transformation of cultural institutions into open platforms for dissemination, exchange and production of value, capable of allow an active communication with its public, and a fruition of the cultural heritage without geographical boundaries and projected towards a future in which the sharing and the model of open access will always be greater.

We believe..
in new forms of conversation and dissemination of artistic heritage no longer authoritarian, conservative, but open, free, welcoming and innovative.

We believe..
in a new relationship between the museum and the visitor based on the latter’s participation in the production, creation and enhancement of culture through data sharing and images.

We believe..
that the reuse of data and images of the art through the platforms that connect visitors, experts, scholars, enthusiasts to each other, can activate the production of UGC (User Generated Content) personal content, for the benefit of co-creative processes of cultural and economic value for all.

We believe..
in new experiences of visiting cultural sites, no longer passive, but active, where knowledge is not only transmitted but also built, where the visitor is involved and is able to produce art forms himself.

We believe..
that the internet and social media are a great opportunity for cultural communication, a way to involve new subjects, break down all types of barriers, and further encourage the creation, sharing, dissemination and enhancement of our artistic heritage.

We believe..
that the Internet is able to trigger new ways of managing, conserving, protecting, communicating and enhancing our resources.

We believe..
in simplification of the rules for access and re-use of Cultural Heritage data to encourage digitization.

We believe..
in the need for confrontation between all the actors of cultural heritage so that ideas do not remain isolated but can circulate and inspire others to improve them and make them operational because only other knowledge derives from the exchange of knowledge. We are convinced that this exchange should not be limited to the borders of a country but may, and should, be international.

We believe..
that art becomes knowledge when it is shared.
